Essence is an extremely affordable makeup brand that has really been surprising me with their amazing products. Today I wanted to share what is possibly my favourite product from Essence! The 2-in-1 Eyeshadow & Liner in #02 Peach Perfect is a beautiful extremely pigmented, long wearing eyeshadow stick and it's only $5 (CAD)!
Like the MAC Extra Dimensions Skinfinish I previously reviewed, the Extra Dimensions blushes also really caught my eyes. I have dry skin so I love a blush that gives a glow to the cheeks.
I really enjoy Mary Kay's skincare products because they are good quality, great for sensitive skin and they're reasonably priced. So I was very excited to find out that Mary Kay came out with their own charcoal mask! It retails for $26 (CAD) and you get a whopping 4 ounces (114 g) of product!
Mary Kay is one of my favourite skincare brands but their makeup is usually a hit or miss for me. They have two limited edition baked blushes out right now that sell for $23 each and contain 6.5g of product. From each sale, $2 will be donated to the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation. This foundation helps women with cancer and victims of violence!
This only comes in 5 shades. The shade range is very limited, which is common for Korean cosmetics. I thought that because this brand is so popular for their lip tints, that they'd have a larger selection of shades, so that's disappointing. I picked the shade #05 Elf Light Rose because it looked like a beautiful rosy pink shade and Peripera describes it as a MLBB pink. In the swatch below it looks like a pretty reddish pink. However, on my lips it looks like a very bright pink. On my medium skin-tone it looks too bright and I find it to be terribly unflattering. All the swatches I have seen of this exact shade looked gorgeous but on me the colour looks very different. This particular shade is really raved about online.
The formula of this tint is quite unique. At first, this tint applies like a moussey-gel. It’s very pigmented and unlike most Korean tints, it doesn't apply patchy. Once it dries down, it truly feels like a velvety powder on the lips. It's not sticky or heavy at all. It's very lightweight and comfortable as the name claims.
Despite the fact that I don't like the shade, I still recommend this lip tint! For the colour alone, I wouldn't reach for this but because I like the formula I make it work by layering it with other lip products. I've been enjoying topping it off with my Anastasia Beverly Hills Lipgloss in Kristen, which is brownish-pink nude; this combo results in a wearable pink shade.
If they came out with other shades, preferably a plum, I would order it right away. So I recommend giving these a try if you like any of the shades. I would give this 5 stars if they had a shade that would suit me.
Pros:
- Comfortable
- Inexpensive
- Pigmented
- Light weight
- Long wearing
Cons:
- Limited shade range
- Smells like soap

My cousin constantly raved about this eyeliner and seeing that she's a lot more experienced in makeup than I am, I trusted her and purchased this liner. I've also heard this is a favourite among makeup artists so I had huge expectations for this eyeliner. I've used this several times and even tested it out on the beach and here's how the eyeliner performed.
I have always wanted to try out eye patches so when I saw these on eBay for only $13 (CAD) for 30 pairs I just had to try them out! For the price I was skeptical about these but it had good reviews so I ended up ordering them. This is my first time trying eye patches and here's my experience with these.
The employee at The Face Shop told me that this product is moisturizing and would help with breakouts. So of course this product peaked my interest and I had to try it out for myself. I’ve been using it off and on for several months now and here’s my review of this product.
