First Impressions Review: TonyMoly I'm Real Tea Tree Sheet Mask
My skin was feeling really dry and irritated today so I thought that I could really use a sheet mask! Looking through my collection, I decided to try this mask
from TonyMoly and here's my first impressions!
Packaging
I want to take a second to just talk about the packaging because it is so cute! It's very convenient that all of TonyMoly I'm Real masks come in different shapes and colours because when you have a lot of sheet masks like I do, it's so hard to find which one you're looking for. But these are really easy to find! I also love how this has the effect of this mask on the top, making it super easy to find a mask that's right for you.
Quality of the Sheet
When it comes to sheet masks, the quality of
the actual sheet is very important because they determine how well the
serum will absorb into your skin. So the sheet itself was a very thick
material. The company claims that the sheet "features a three-layer
cotton sheet for better absorption and deeper penetration of essence."
Unlike most sheet masks that are very drippy, I found that this wasn't
super drippy. On my face, the mask fit perfectly on my skin, however this
might be too small for those with larger faces. The eyeholes were quite
small, which is a bit annoying. However, I rather enjoyed that this
time since I just got my eyebrows done the day before and so my skin around my
eyebrows is very irritated and this covered all those areas. I found that
this stuck really well to my face. It didn't slid off my face, which I think is
due to the thick material of this mask. I really liked the quality of the
sheet.
How to Use
For those of you who don't know how to use a sheet mask, you just cleanse and tone your skin and put this on. I recommend taking a shower or exfoliating before using a sheet mask for maximum benefits. You leave it on for the recommended time as per the packet or till it's almost dry but not completely. For this sheet mask, the recommended time is 20-30 minutes. Don't leave sheet masks on for too long because once the sheet dries, it will start to suck out the moisture from your skin. After the recommended time, you can take off the mask and pat your face so the leftover essence will soak in faster. There's still a lot of essence left in the packet so you can use the rest of it on your neck and body. I personally use the leftover serum twice a day till I finish all the serum.
Results
After taking it off, my skin was very wet and sticky. Once my skin completely drank up all the essence, my face looked very hydrated, healthy and glowy. Unlike some sheet masks, it didn't leave a tacky film on the skin! Prior to using the mask, I had a few pimples that were quite red and irritated. And these were really stubborn pimples! I tried so many things to treat them such as salysilic acid, benzoyl peroxide, expensive face masks, toothpaste and DIY treatments, but nothing worked. After one use of this sheet mask, my pimples decreased in both size and redness! This sheet mask and the Acai Berry sheet mask from The Face Shop (you can read my review on it here) are now my HOLY GRAILS when I'm having breakouts. I really enjoyed this mask and would absolutely repurchase!
Pros:
- Hydrating
- Inexpensive (I got it for $1.50 directly from a TonyMoly store!)
- Helps treat breakouts
- Doesn't leave tacky film on skin
Cons:
I actually can't think of any
